On the Podcast this week, I brought up the issue of Injury reporting and Late withdrawls from teams. It is is getting out of hand but should the AFL step in and legislate to fix this growing epidemic? One of the examples I used on the show was that of Buddy Franklin being named in the side on Thursday, pulling out of the side Friday and then having his managaer, Liam Pickering, say on Saturday that Buddy told him he was at most a 20% chance to play on the weekend on Thursday!

On the show I suggested that perhaps we needed to look at not just fines or loss of draft picks, but if teams continue to lie about their injuries or make late changes, that they get there picks in the draft moved around. So maybe for a 3rd offense, not only do they get fined, but also perhaps they have 3rd pick moved down 5 places. If they do it again, lose 5 places on their 2nd pick, and so on!

What do you guys think? Do the AFL have to act or is it just bad luck? Vote and/or comment below

On the weekend in the Hawks v Bombers match, there was a controversial decision in the 3rd quarter. It was a rushed behind by Henry Slattery that Scott McClaren payed as deliberate and resulted in a goal to Buddy Franklin from straight in front. It has since come out that the decision was too strict and that Slattery was under pressure from Buddy and so was fine to go over the line with the ball.

Even with this ruling, some are saying they liked the decision and some are saying they like it but its not the way its been umpired so far. So thats why its the Poll question of the week! What do you think?

The line in the sand game between bitter rivals, Essendon (the Bad guys) vs Hawthorn (the good guys) is on this week in unofficial rivalary round. Channel 10 have been using a promo (Below) showing footage of the the fights of the past. Is this right of Ten? The AFL aren’t happy about it but have Ten done anything wrong? These incidents happened in the game and after Round 22 last year, this could be a hot match, especially with both teams struggling on 1 win and 4 losses!

Okay, Weekly poll time! Last week you guys were split as to if the Saints could till make the Grand Final. This week I thought about doing the normal ANZAC day debate but thats old and tired! So, what about Substitution? I gave my thoughts on it last week in a Podcast! But what do you think? so to start with, lets ask the basic question. Yes or no on Substitution of any form? Lets not get bogged down on specifics. If you have ideas, add them to the comments below and that will help in coming up with plans to vote on in future polls (if there is interest).

Well a fantastic Grand Final replay was held last night and the Cats hung on for the win. But with the Hawks hanging in there by their talens and almost pinching a game they had no right being anywhere near it in. So who should be number one this week in the AFL Power Rankings? Geelong won the game but the hawks where missing 7 of their best side and another early in the second Quarter. So did they do enough to move to number one even with out winning?let me know. I am biased and will take your advice on board. If you have thoughts above the yes/no type of answer, leave them in the comments.
